The Veterinary team at Ormeau consists of Dr Brei who has been working in the Ormeau community for over 10 years.
Dr Brei Woehrle
Who is Brei when she’s not being a vet?
Brei has been working with the Ormeau community as a vet for over 10 years! Outside of work she enjoys anything outdoors! She’s very active and you’ll often find her hiking with her family through a National Park. She also loves spending quality time with her horse and keeping fit with a personal trainer. Brei is an equal lover of all animals but has a special spot for her four snakes at home.
Brei graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
Brei has an equal passion for both medicine and surgery. She’s the perfect GP vet and is often called upon for second opinions by her colleagues. Brei has had her share of ‘weird’ medical cases over the years and enjoys putting the pieces of the puzzle together to obtain a diagnosis. She’s a medical detective and nothing gets by her!
Dr Caitlin Ghent
Who is Caitlin when she’s not being a vet?
In her spare time Caitlin loves getting out on the water to stand up paddle board. She is also currently learning to play the ukulele!
Caitlin graduated from James Cook University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science.
Caitlin is passionate about all aspects veterinary care however she is particularly interested in emergency and internal medicine.
Dr Madeline Ricca
Who is Madeline when she’s not being a vet?
Outside of work Madeline enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially when it involves good food and coffee. She also loves relaxing with her dog and birds while binging a good Netflix series.
Madeline graduated from The University of Queensland in 2019 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours).
Madeline loves all things related to being a small animal GP vet, from puppy and kitten vaccinations through to keeping pets comfortable in their golden years. She also has a special interest in birds and enjoys working with their owners to give them enriched, healthy lives.
Dr Fiona Mok
Who is Fiona when she’s not being a vet?
Fiona is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Outside of work, Fiona and her husband are busy parents to her 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son. She is also a proud pet parent to a 10 year old Budgerigar named Hamish. If she isn’t chasing after the two human energizer bunnies, she actively serves at her church. She relaxes by watching Asian and Sci Fi dramas, going horseriding (when she can) and converting her garden into something more friendly for the native wildlife.
Fiona grew up and attended all her schooling years in Brisbane. She graduated from the University of Qld with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) in 2007. Since her graduation, she has worked in various practices in Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich as a small animal general practitioner with a brief stint in mixed animal practice early in her career.
Fiona loves the variety and challenge that GP practice brings. Her particular interest lies in medicine – whether small animal or simple avian and exotic pet medicine. She is also interested in dermatology and dentistry. Keeping with the motto – “prevention is better than cure”, she prefers to catch problems early on to make sure all pets will have the best quality of life possible well into their golden years.
Dr Winnie Mok
Who is Winnie when she’s not being a vet?
Outside of work, Winnie loves to spend time with her family and friends. She is quite the foodie, and enjoys trying new restaurants, cooking different cuisines and experimenting with new dessert and cake recipes. She also loves creating jewellery and other crafty projects. Since Covid, she’s become a plant enthusiast, and has started collecting exotic plants.
Winnie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Zoology. She then moved up to Queensland and studied Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours in 2001.
Winnie’s areas of interest include veterinary dentistry and working with clients to implement achievable dental hygiene plans for their pets, acupuncture and soft tissue surgery.
Who is Stacey when she’s not being a vet nurse?
Stacey enjoys spending her free time in the company of good friends and family, although she is also happy to enjoy the day on the couch with a good book or movie. Throughout Summer she enjoys spending her time at the beach swimming or stand up paddle boarding. Stacey shares her home with her cat Kevin and Carpet python Russell.
Stacey has a Certificate IV in veterinary nursing which she completed in 2012. She has 7 years’ nursing experience up her sleeve!
Stacey loves all aspects of her job though she thoroughly enjoys surgical nursing and reception.
Who is Dee when she’s not being a vet nurse?
When Dee is not being a vet nurse she spends her time with her two horses, two dogs, two cats and her chickens. Most Sunday’s you will find her on the golf course playing 18 holes with her husband.
Dee holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. She has been in the industry for 9 years.
Dee loves all aspects of her job but she particularly enjoys dental procedures.
Who is Keely when she’s not being a vet nurse?
Keely likes to spender spare time with her horses. She is trying to get out and compete in dressage but as she is a mum of three beautiful children, this proves difficult at times!
Keely holds a certificate in business and is currently studying her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing.
Keely has a special interest in equine rehabilitation
Who is Vanessa when she’s not being a vet nurse?
Outside of work Vanessa can be found with a cheese platter in hand and her cat, Zeus, by her side. Vanessa enjoys getting out and enjoying what our beautiful city has to offer and can be often found at the beach or spending time with her family.
Vanessa is currently undertaking her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing after completing her Cert III in Animal Studies in 2020.
Fresh to the industry Vanessa has an interest to develop in the surgical side of the job. With a customer service background Vanessa enjoys taking care of our clients on reception and she is enjoying the challenge to progress her knowledge in the hospital ward.
Trainee Vet Nurse
Who is Brittney when she’s not being a trainee vet nurse?
Outside of work, Brittney likes to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys going on adventures and exploring the Gold Coast and beyond.
Brittney graduated year 12 in 2018 and is currently studying towards her certificate IV in Vet Nursing.
Brittney loves all aspects of her job but particularly enjoys surgical nursing.
