Our Veterinary Fees

Don’t be fooled into thinking we are expensive because we ‘look fancy’. Our prices are consistently in line with other ‘average priced vets’. We regularly participate in an annual fee survey for the veterinary industry and are consistently classed in the ‘Average Priced Vet’ category. Hard to believe you can get veterinary care in a beautiful facility for average prices isn’t it? Well at the Vet Lounge you can!

Below is a list of our most popular services and their inclusions.

Consultations

A consultation includes one on one time with the veterinarian, access to all of our E-Books, full health check of your pet – heart, lungs, eyes, ears, skin, temperature and any concerns you may have. There is no such thing as a silly question when it comes to your pet.

Vaccinations

Our Vaccinations and Annual Check-up includes one-on-one time with the veterinarian, vaccination, access to all our E-Books, full health check of your pet – heart, lungs, eyes, ears, skin, temperature and any concerns you may have. Remember these are very important visits, as your pet ages 7 years to our 1.

Desexing

Our desexing prices are competitive for the level of care that your pet receives. All of our desexing surgeries include: a full health check, sedation, surgery, fluids during the procedure (to help keep the blood pressure stable and assist kidneys in the filtration of the drugs used), pain relief upon waking and three days worth of pain relief to take home, a warm and comfortable recovery ward, follow up phone call after surgery and after your post surgery check up.

We do recommend taking home an Elizabethan collar to ensure your pet leaves their surgery site alone. We also recommend a pre anaesthetic blood test to check your pet’s kidney and liver enzymes, red and white blood cell count, glucose and total protein levels. Your pet’s kidney levels are what we are most concerned about, your pet will not show any signs of renal failure until 75% of their kidneys are no longer functioning, this blood test will pick up changes prior to irreversible damage being done.

Dental Disease in Pets

Dentals are an important part of your pet’s health care. 80% of pet’s have dental disease, chances are your pet is one of them. Dental disease is not only discoloured teeth and smelly breath, it is also painful for your pet. Painful to eat and can be painful full time, dental disease hinders the kidneys ability to filter your pet’s blood as the bacteria enters the blood system via the gums.

We offer free dental checks all year round, to provide you with information you need to make the best choices for your pet. Dentals include a full health check, sedation, ultrasonic scale and polish, fluids during the procedure (to help keep the blood pressure high and assist kidneys in the filtration of the drugs used), a warm and comfortable recovery ward, follow up phone call after surgery and after your post surgery checkup.

We would strongly recommend a pre anaesthetic blood test, due to the involvement with the teeth and kidneys. This tests your pet’s kidney and liver enzymes, red and white blood cell count, glucose and total protein levels. Your pet’s kidney levels are what we are most concerned about, your pet will not show any signs of renal failure until 75% of their kidneys are no longer functioning, this blood test will pick up changes prior to irreversible damage being done.

Dental prices depend on your pet’s weight and grade of disease (1-4). Be sure to contact your local clinic to make an appointment for your FREE dental check.
